Nijhof-Wassink achieves a 92% SQAS score

To ensure the high-quality, safe transport and storage of chemical goods in a way which is not detrimental to the environment, CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council) has developed the SQAS assessment system (Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability).

SQAS is a system to assess the performances of logistics service providers in a uniform way to see whether these meet the requirements set with regards to organisation, quality, safety and the environment. In this way clients can ascertain the status of the above-mentioned topics at a logistics service provider. The SQAS system has various modules. There is a separate version for road / intermodal transport, tank cleaning stations, rail transport, storage and transhipment companies and distribution companies.

Nijhof-Wassink scores a fantastic score of 92% in the road transport module. This is a fantastic result in view of the industry average of 77%. ‘The basic issues of safety and the environment are effectively secured in our organisation. Our drivers are aware of this and take responsibility. The interim audit score is a real compliment for everyone and motivates us to stay focused to maintain the 92% score. Of course, we will also look how we can further improve our score´ states Erik Taal, Nijhof-Wassink SHEQ manager.
