The first drivers have now taken place behind the wheel of the first Renault Trucks in the Nijhof-Wassink fleet. Our drivers visited the Renault factory in Lyon (France) in advance and followed an extensive training program. The first delivery of a total of 20 Renault Trucks for the Feed Logistics and Chemical Logistics department is a fact! Feed Logistics consciously chooses Renault T because of the lower entry level. Chemical Logistics will drive the T High, which is equipped with Turbo Compound to generate even lower consumption in connection with the deployment. Walter Peters (Nijwa BV) indicates that all vehicles are equipped with the proven strong and economical 13 liter engine with 480 HP. The driver's seat of type "comfort" with heating, adjustment options and leather upholstery and a 4-point air-suspended cabin provide a comfortable workplace. Extras such as the Optifuel package, where the route is read based using Optivision makes sure an optimal switching strategy is obtained. Sufficient cupboard space and the "Serenity" bed type with comfortable mattress and mattress topper should not be missing in addition to the refrigerator and stationary air conditioning. The trucks are equipped with a blind spot camera, adaptive cruise control and the GSR (Global Safety Regulations) package (mandatory from July 7, 2024).
Last Friday, June 14, the T High was extensively tested by colleague Bas Riezebos from our Behavior Based Safety department and Ronald Meupelenberg, Driver Trainer at sister company Nijwa. Ronald: "We were impressed by the dashboard structure and the intuitive steering wheel controls of this truck. The design and functionality translates into an excellent driving experience. A great chance to experience the power and innovation of Renault Trucks up close!"
