One help centre, one contact point, one party that takes care of everything. That characterises the partnership between Crespel & Deiters Group and Nijhof-Wassink. Whether it is transport, dealing with customs formalities for shipping to overseas destinations, silo storage or handling, we arrange it and make it happen.
From Ibbenbüren to Mexico
With our full service concept, with our own drivers, our own equipment and our own storage and transhipment facilities, we provide a total solution to Crespel & Deiters. Crespel & Deiters currently rents three 300 m3 storage silos at our logistics centre in Coevorden. One of the things we store in our silo storage is a safety stock of wheat starch that allows Crespel & Deiters to absorb fluctuations in its production. We also provide a regular flow of the product Weizenstärke, which is for the glue and paper industry, from Crespel & Deiters’ production site in Ibbenbüren to Mexico. We load an average of 150 tonnes of bulk product per week in Ibbenbüren with our silo wagons. This is unloaded into a storage silo at our premises in Coevorden. This material is packed in big bags, placed on pallets and prepared for shipping in our warehouse. Our logistics staff load between four and eight sea containers every week. These containers are sealed and provided with export documents and then transported by barge or train to the sea terminals in Rotterdam, Wilhelmshaven or Hamburg, with customers in Mexico as their final destination.
The advantage of intermodal transport
Intermodal transport allows us to organise transport in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. In this way, we also contribute to the sustainability ambitions of Crespel & Deiters to reduce its impact on the environment. Moreover, the supply lines are literally very short in this case, given that the EuroTerminal in Coevorden is located next to our site. That makes it a win-win situation for all parties.
