After a rigorous tender process, Shell has awarded the planning and execution of a significant portion of its fuel distribution in the Netherlands to international transport company Nijhof-Wassink.
Starting October 1, 2026, Nijhof-Wassink will plan and distribute approximately 60% of Shell's fuel volumes to fuel stations in the regions of North Holland, South Holland, Utrecht, and Northeast Netherlands.
"In this tender, more than just price played a role in the selection process. We specifically considered the organization's professionalism. Reliable delivery with a strong focus on the quality and safety of drivers, equipment and the support organization is of paramount importance to us. Our current transport partners also operate according to these values. Based on careful consideration, we selected Nijhof-Wassink. All transport will be carried out sustainably using Shell Renewable Diesel (HVO)," says Coleta Free-Cranenburg, Business Opportunity Manager Benelux Road Transport Strategy at Shell.
"We consider the fact that we are responsible for executing and planning a large portion of Shell's fuel distribution in the Netherlands is a great compliment to our organization. We are immensely proud of this. It's a wonderful addition to our current portfolio, allowing us to achieve efficiency in our daily transport operations and this way we can work even more sustainably for our customers. Together with Shell, the current planning organization in Kraków, and the current transport partners of Shell, we will be working closely in the coming period to ensure the transition to our organization is as careful and smooth as possible," says Bertil Bouwhuis, Managing Director of Nijhof-Wassink.
