Nijhof-Wassink takes over the Quartes transport department

In November 2019, the Royal Agrifirm Group acquired the Belgian compound feed company Quartes and Agri-Activ (a supplier to the arable farming sector). Quartes and Agrifirm thus strengthened their position as a supplier to the livestock and arable sectors in the Benelux region.

Until recently, the Quartes and Agri-Activ in-house transport department partially handled moving their products. After close consultation with Quartes and Agri-Activ, the transport company Nijhof-Wassink took over the drivers and fleet as of 1 August 2020. This involves seven drivers and ten bulk combinations.

'Working with our strategic partner in Belgium, DVM Trans, we have a strong delivery network within the Benelux region. Our Belgian drivers, planners and management are very important in this. And this means that the experienced drivers we take over will also suit us very well. We warmly welcome them ', says Martin Schoemaker, Managing Director of Feed Logistics at Nijhof-Wassink.

'Nijhof-Wassink has a large numerous sites in Belgium and a large fleet and driver corps. This is a company that operates 24/7. By working with the professional partners Nijhof-Wassink and DVM, we maintain the Belgian way of transport in order to continue to serve our Belgian clients optimally,' says Wim van den Heuvel, General Manager at Agrifirm-Quartes (Agri Activ).
