Co founder Nijhof-Wassink Group has passed away

On Monday 1 April 2019 Harman Nijhof, co-founder of the Nijhof-Wassink Group, passed away at the age of 82.

Harman was a passionate and inspired entrepreneur with a great love for the profession. His eye for discipline, order and tidiness has taken our companies far. In 1963 Harman started his own transport company from Wierden. In 1967, he and Evert Wassink decided to merge their transport companies. It was then that Nijhof-Wassink came into being with 7 trucks. Meanwhile, there are 400 Nijhof trucks driving throughout Europe. In 1968, Harman and Evert founded the Nijwa Group. The Nijwa Group sells, maintains and rents Volvo and Renault trucks and commercial vehicles in the Netherlands and Poland.

The entrepreneurial spirit of Harman Nijhof did not let itself be confined within the national borders of the Netherlands. Today the Nijwa Group has 21 branches in 5 countries and more than 1,200 employees.

With Harman Nijhof the Nijhof-Wassink family loses a great inspirator, visionary and ambassador
